I love science fiction for its infinite canvas. There is no world too strange, no people too alien, no rules that cannot be broken. The pages turn, the universe becomes our playground.
Science fiction is both a telescope and a mirror, taking us far away so that we can turn around and see ourselves as we really are. Science fiction might be set in The Future! but it is always about the present, about us, now, and the world we create.
Good science fiction allows us to escape Earth, great science fiction helps us understand it.
